Sam Hartnett is Vice President of Strategy and Growth at Black Bear Energy where he focuses on expanding the company’s footprint via new markets, partnerships, and deployment models.

Sam brings fifteen years of experience monetizing distributed energy resources in wholesale electricity markets and utility programs. His background includes managing commercial and industrial demand response portfolios at EnerNOC, developing techno-economic optimization models for microgrids at Rocky Mountain Institute, and leading commercial strategy for virtual power plants at Uplight.

Sam earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science from Colorado College. He is based in Carbondale, CO where he enjoys exploring the mountains and rivers with his family.
