Emily Richardson is a Manager of Client Operations at Black Bear Energy, where she supports clients in identifying ideal properties for solar deployment, selecting a developer to partner with, and seeing the project through to fruition. Emily has long harbored a passion for furthering the energy transition, and has worked with a variety of stakeholders, including utilities, nonprofits, banks, and governmental bodies to advance clean energy policy and technologies. She previously served as Director of Residential Programs at the Collective Clean Energy Fund, where she developed and oversaw a statewide tariff on-bill financing program in partnership with Colorado’s rural electric utilities, introducing a vital tool to increase access to residential clean energy technologies. Emily also has extensive federal policy experience after working on Capitol Hill for five years, where she furthered legislative priorities on renewable energy incentives and transportation decarbonization, and covered the committee work for Members of both the House Appropriations and House Energy & Commerce Committees.

Emily holds a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment, where she specialized in Clean Energy Systems and Business. Emily lives in Denver and outside of work enjoys summiting Colorado’s 14ers, trying out new baking recipes, reading science fiction novels, and snuggling with her pup, Bingley.
